Sister Maria Oshigiri (Bobsleigh, Rugby sevens): Innsbruck 2012 Youth Olympian, finishing eighth in the 2-woman. As a pilot, finished seventh at the 2017 World Championships and raced at the World Cup from 2017-18, with one top-10 result. Played rugby sevens with the Hokkaido Barbarians and was among those considered for the Japanese team at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.

2016: Left hip injury after a fall. Continued to trouble her in the lead up to the PyeongChang 2018 Olympic Winter Games and forced her to retire for two years.
