Former professional BMX rider: Finished second overall in the 2015 Canadian series. Owes a lot of his competition mindset to BMX racing which he started at age nine. Won Canadian National age group #1 rider before he turned pro just before his 19th birthday. Won numerous World Cups, World Championships and had quite a few podiums at the Canadian Championships before he decided to change his focus over to snowboard cross.(cbc.ca, 3 Dec 2019)

Grew up in the small town of Vernon, British Columbia. Downhill skied from age seven to nine when his parents could afford to get him lift tickets. "My dad actually started ski patrolling so he could get a family ski pass because we were living on a single income from my dad alone. I started snowboarding when I was nine, due to the fact that it was the more cool thing to do." (cbc.ca, 3 Dec 2019)
Since he was 12 he did local slopestyle, halfpipe, and boarder x events that would start at the top of the halfpipe and finish at the bottom of the park at his home hill of Silver Star Mountain Resort. He is vegan, eats healthy, plant-based, not only during the competitive season but all throughout the year. Strength training at the gym six days a week. "I've always loved keeping my body in shape even outside of sport.
