September 2015: Got a virus which triggered an autoimmune disease while at a training camp in Argentina. Was sidelined for two months.

Started skiing as a weekend activity with her family. Her older brother told her snowboarding was better and she switched over it at age nine. She entered her first snowboard cross competition at 10 and won her very first race. At 16, she was named to the national development team. (olympic.ca)
The best part is that it's always changing and evolving. "Every course you race on is different, even if a race is held at the same venue, the course can be built differently and the snow and weather can affect the course as well. Spends about three hours each day at the gym and two to three hours a day hiking, cycling or running, six days a week. (Info 2018)
