Began skiing at Mammoth, California at age two, but quickly switched over to snowboarding because that was what her parents did. Joined the Mammoth Mountain snowboard Team at age eight. "I was hooked. I loved riding the mountain with my team and coaches." (Athlete, 1Jul 2021)
Competed in all snowboard disciplines when younger. Then gradually gravitated to halfpipe because "I loved the feeling of flying." (Athlete, 1 Jul 2021)
