November 2016: Back injury during a training camp with the US team in Austria. She fractured her L3 vertebrae and was forced to miss the rest of 2016/17 season (eu.app.com, 25 Jan 2018). She started snowboarding at age 10. Her family moved to Edwards, Colorado to allow her and her siblings to further their snowboarding training. She attended the Vail Ski & Snowboard Academy for her first two years of high school before transferring to the International Snowboard Training Center. "I couldn’t have done it without them, especially my parents and siblings. My parents gave up so much so we could do this, moving out to Colorado for everyone, and my brother taught me a lot.
