"I have had countless concussions growing up at a young age sending it way too hard on a snowboard." (Athlete, 29 Sep 2021)
Spring of 2021
"I grew up in the small ski town of Steamboat Springs, Colorado where kids are thrown on snow sports equipment out of the womb. My dad was a snowboarder and my mom a skier. Their rule was I had to be able to ski a black diamond run before I could snowboard, so as soon as I skied my first expert run I switched to snowboarding. That was around age five." (Athlete, 29 Sep 2021)
"For this past three seasons, I have been training and competing only in parallel slalom and parallel giant slalom. At the end of the 2020/21 season, I decided to do some snowboard cross events that were in Copper Mountain, Colorado just for fun. I ended up doing really well and made the US team. Because of 2021/22 being an Olympic season, I will be totally focused on training and competing in parallel slalom and parallel giant slalom. I feel I have a better shot at making the Olympic team in parallel. However, the snowboard cross events I did, really reminded me of how fun snowboard cross really is and I plan to start training and competing in it again." (Athlete, 29 Sep 2021)

Ester Ledecka (CZE), two-time Olympic champion, two-time World champion.
Mick Dierdorff (USA), 2018 Olympian and snowboard cross world champion. (Athlete, 29 Sep 2021)
Brother Billy. "He is two years older than me so he was always a few steps ahead of me. He influenced me not only in skills and style of riding, but also to always have fun and not take everything so seriously. I mean, it is snowboarding after all. He stopped competing in 2019 but I am still influenced by him each day." (Athlete, 29 Sep 2021)
"I usually start the season with a bunch of new ski socks and if I have a good race day with a certain pair of socks early in the season I will consider them my 'speed socks' and wear them for most race days for the rest of the season." (Athlete, 29 Sep 2021)
"Fun first. Work hard play hard." (Athlete, 29 Sep 2021)
