Started snowboarding with her father at age four at Geto resort in Iwate, Japan.
Started alpine snowboarding at first, but then some of the local snowboard park crew took her under their wing and she started riding park because it was more fun. Entered slopestyle competitions at age seven and just kept going from there. "At first I didn't really like jumping that much because hitting big jumps was really scary. As I got older though, flying through the air became a feeling that I started to love." (Athlete, 18 Jul 2021)
"I've been competing for the majority of my life, with a lot of both ups and downs. Of course I'd love to achieve some more good results before my competitive career is over, then I'm really looking forward to exploring the non-competitive sides of snowboarding." (Athlete, 18 Jul 2021)

"I entered my first World Cup big air competition at 15 years old and did a backside double cork 1080 for the first time in competition, which helped me win that event. After that success, I was invited to the X Games for the first time and ended up in second place in big air." (Athlete, 18 Jul 2021)
