Feb 2017: Broken wrist, a broken rib and an injured vertebra from crashing during training. Was able to compete at the 2017 World Championships in Sierra Nevada, Spain, in March 2017 (finishing 11th).
Mar 2013: Broke her jaw and dislocated her shoulder in a fall. Made a full recovery from the broken jaw but her shoulder injury eventually required surgery.
Feb 2010: Sustained a concussion in a crash in training before the final after qualifying for the Vancouver 2010 Olympic final with the third best score. Was forced to withdraw.
Started skiing at age four and began practicing artistic gymnastics at age five. Switched to snowboarding at age six and began competing at age seven. Gymnastics has been fundamental for her rapid progression in snowboarding. "Thanks to gymnastics I got used to the competition, learning to set goals and work hard to achieve them." Her parents took up the sport, after initially skiing, and then encouraged her and her brother to get involved in snowboarding as soon as they were old enough.
