Brother Frode (Snowboarding): Former professional snowboarder, now a renowned action sports photographer. His snowboarding pictures have been published in various magazines and used in promotions by outdoor sports companies.
2008 Junior World Championships in Chiesa Valmalenco (Halfpipe - 4th)
2008 World Cup in Cardrona (Halfpipe - 40th)
2016/17 season: Underwent two knee's meniscus surgeries, after which he had to spend some time in a wheelchair. In October, following the surgeries, he had to have a piece of his left knee meniscus cut off. In November 2016 he was able to start snowboarding again. He returned to competition in January 2017.
He took up snowboarding at age eight. "I was pretty athletic naturally as a kid and could handle most sports, so I probably had some natural talent from that. But snowboarding was where I got 100 per cent committed and put in all my energy to snowboard every damn day. So, for sure I put a lot of hours in, that you could call hard work I guess. But I loved it, and still do." (pleasuremag.com, 20 Dec 2021)
His brother has been a big influence in his snowboarding career. "I got my first snowboard from my brother and he was there the first time I went on the slopes. He introduced me to the sport and has also helped a lot since then." (Info 2018)
Winning a silver medal at the 2014 Olympic Winter Games in Sochi. "For sure it was a big accomplishment for me and added on to my career. But the biggest change was probably getting respect from grown-ups that thought I was just f* around on a snowboard not doing anything with my life, to now being a "Respected" athlete." (pleasuremag.com, 20 Dec 2021)
His brother Frode. (Info 2018)
"I just love to snowboard. Sometimes you can get a little over it, but then you have that one day that means you're on it again." (Info 2018)
Was named the 2012 Norwegian Snowboarder of the Year.
