Grew up close to Ruka resort, started skiing at age six and then switched to snowboarding at age nine. (Athlete, 7 Oct 2021)

"It was really natural to do winters sports in north of Finland and snowboarding seemed so cool and exciting compared to cross country skiing or any other traditional sport. I got influenced by snowboarders like (2002 halfpipe Olympian) Heikki Sorsa (FIN) and (two-time halfpipe world champion) Antti Autti (FIN). Two-time Olympic slopestyle medallist winning silver at Sochi 2014 (0.25 points behind champion, USA's Jamie Anderson) and bronze at PyeongChang 2018 (1.05 points behind silver medallist Canada's Laurie Blouin).

WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS
Won the halfpipe world title in her championships debut in 2011 (La Molina), and the big air silver medal in 2017 (Sierra Nevada)

Three-time Junior World Championships medallist winning two gold in 2010 (slopestyle, big air), and 2008 bronze (big air).

WORLD CUP
Won her first World Cup event in her second appearance in March 2013 (slopestyle in Spindleruv Mlyn).

Has seven World Cup podiums, with four victories (three in slopestyle, one in big air) as of end of 2020/21 season.

OTHER
Four-time X Games slopestyle medallist winning one gold (2011), one silver (2012), and two bronze (2018, 2019). 2018 X Games big air bronze medallist.

In 2011, she was the first female snowboarder to win X Games slopestyle as a rookie, and the first Finnish rider to achieve X Games medal.
