Started at the age of nine in a trial jumping in the neighbouring village which he attended with his two brothers. He knew immediately that he wanted to jump again. (simonammann.ch)

Not anymore, but when he was younger he wanted to fly like former Japanese ski jumper Kazuyoshi Funaki, three-time Olympic medallist, two gold and one silver in front of his home crowd in Nagano 1998, two-time world champion, and the only ski jumper who showed a perfect jump (20 points by all five judges) in more than one competition (four times).
