Ski jumper Noriaki Kasai (JPN), born 1972, three-time medallist at Olympic Winter Games, team bronze (Sochi 2014), team silver (Lillehammer 1994) and individual silver (Large hill) in Sochi 2014, which made him at the age of 41 the oldest Olympic medallist in ski jumping. Milestones

Four-time Olympian (2006-18), best individual result was ninth (large hill) at Sochi 2014 where he was a member of the bronze medal-winning team.

Five-time World Championships team medallist winning one gold (2013) and four bronze (2007, 2009, 2017, 2019). Best individual results are a pair of 10th's (2013, 2017).

Competed at three Ski Flying World Championships with top-10 results, but no medals.

2002 Junior World Championships normal hill silver medallist.

Currently competing in his 19th World Cup season. His best overall ranking was fourth in 2011/12 when he had more than half of all his podium finishes, including his four victories. Overall he stands at 17 podiums, four wins, six second places, and seven thirds. His last podium was in November 2014 when he finished second in Ruka (large hill).

In 2021/22 he had three top-15 finishes, his best result in Willingen (large hill), on 30 January 2022, where he finished eighth. This marks his best result in more than two years, since 6 January 2020 where he also finished eighth. In the overall World Cup he is currently ranked 35th.
