Spring 2021: Ankle surgery, but back to normal training in summer. After the qualification for the Summer Grand Prix in Wisla (POL), he withdrew because of swelling in the ankle. He underwent an MRI exam and a few days later the doctors gave him the all-clear. Competed in the last two events of the Summer Grand Prix 2021. "After the surgery, I wanted to train normally again and compete in the Grand Prix opener in Wisla, that's why I rushed to come back. My good jumps in Wisla then proved that I don't necessarily need that much training on the hill because the technique is good and nothing essential has to be improved."
