Her interest in the sport started while watching the Salt Lake 2002 Olympic Winter Games. Living in the Virgin Islands, skeleton training facilities were not readily available, so it took eight years before she got an opportunity to try the sport, which came about when she volunteered at Vancouver 2010. Become an Olympian.

Is inspired by the Telluride Film Festival and BANFF Mountain Film Festival and wants to make a film about skeleton for a mountain sport film festival, both to spread awareness and knowledge about the sport, and the obstacles that competitors face. (everydaymatters.rpi.edu, 29 Jan 2019)

Stays grounded and enjoys the small wins along the way by writing down her goals before each race, and looking back at the end of each race to see what she’s accomplished. (everydaymatters.rpi.edu, 29 Jan 2019)

General Interest

PYEONGCHANG 2018 OLYMPIC WINTER GAMES
In 2017/18, she did not score enough points to earn Virgin Islands a quota spot to compete at PyeongChang 2018, despite the fact athletes who ranked below her did earn quota positions. An arbitration case was filed by the Virgin Islands Olympic Committee before the Ad-hoc Division of the Court of Arbitration for Sport challenging the quota system on the grounds of the principle of universal representation and historic practice in the Olympics of issuing additional quota spots to small nations through a "tripartite commission", involving the organizers, the IOC, and individual sport governing bodies — which was not done for the Olympic Winter Games. The appeal was dismissed, and she was not allowed to compete in PyeongChang. (tas-cas.org)

UNDERSTANDING THE SCIENCE OF THE SPORT
In 2017, she visited the Center for Flow Physics and Control (CeFPaC) at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, New York, to deepen her understanding of her own performance through testing and data analysis and examining everything from her body position and her suit to her helmet and sled. “We found several things in the wind tunnel that were kind of counterintuitive to what we thought was the most aerodynamic on the sled. There are a lot of things that we changed, just like my body position and the way I prepare my sled before a race.” (everydaymatters.rpi.edu, 29 Jan 2019)

BROOM
In December 2020, she was unharmed and able to finish her run, when she struck a broom that was left on the track in the World Cup in Innsbruck. (insidethegames.biz, 11 Dec 2020)
