Took dance lessons, then gymnastics, and then played rugby and volleyball at school. Followed her brother into football and played it from age 14-23, and at a Canadian college in 2012 (Olds College, Alberta). Got into bodybuilding, finishing sixth at the Canadian Championships. The transition to winter sports came in 2017 when she was invited to join the female bobsleigh team led by Heather Paes and missed qualifying for the PyeongChang 2018 Olympic Winter Games.

Switched from bobsleigh to skeleton in the 2018/19 season when the president of the Brazilian Ice Sports Federation invited her to become the first Brazilian to seek an Olympic place in skeleton. Made her debut in the North American Skeleton Cup on 7 November 2018, ending the season in sixth in the overall standings of the North American Cup, with 222 points. “I like being in control and in the bobsleigh experience, I was just the break woman [responsible for the brakes]. I wanted to continue, but already in mind that I would either take a pilot course or migrate to skeleton." (brasilzerograu.com.br, 18 Nov 2018; olimpiadatododia.com.br, 26 Nov 2020)

"I never really liked adrenaline activities, but for some reason, I loved the feeling of bobsleigh and skeleton. I never liked the cold either and look where I am! However, this issue of being an extreme sport motivates me a lot. Many have already sent messages saying that I am an inspiration. But this is not easy. I have bruises from head to foot, I hurt my knee, my nose has already bled, my hands are full of calluses and my shins are sore. Even so, I wouldn't change anything." Wants to qualify and have good results at the Beijing 2022 Olympic Winter Games. "No medals, which would obviously be nice, but I don't think it's possible yet. For 2026, I don't know if a medal, but a top-10 would be good." (cbdg.org.br, 3 Mar 2021)

“I'm 0 or 100 in the sport, I either do it to the limit or I don't at all.” (olimpiadatododia.com.br, 26 Nov 2020)

General Interest

PIONEER
She is prepared for the challenge to make her name in the history of Brazilian winter sport. "I feel a very big responsibility in representing Brazil in skeleton. I made a commitment to open the doors to this new sport for the country, myself and all women. That alone is a huge pressure. But these situations add value to our lives and make us strong, resilient, and insightful to the adversities that will appear in this beginning of training." (brasilzerograu.com.br, 18 Nov 2018)

COVID-19 NURSE
A Canadian-based healthcare professional in the province of Alberta, she spent the summer of 2020 taking care of COVID-19 patients “It was quite difficult. First, because I returned to Canada the day before the lockdown and had to be quarantined. Afterwards, I initially worked in a home for the elderly at the height of social isolation measures. Of course, wearing a mask for physical activities is uncomfortable, but I'm used to it in everyday life and, as a nurse, I see when I can keep my distance in certain situations in competition." Three top-25 finishes at the World Championships (2019-21), with a personal best of 17th in 2021 in Altenberg, which was the best result in the country's history in ice sports (alongside the 17th of Aline Goncalves and Marcio Cerquinho, in the World of Mixed Doubles Curling, in 2018, in Ostersund, Sweden).

Started her first full World Cup season in 2020 in Sigulda, finishing in the top-10 in all five races.

Top career result of sixth at the 2021 Intercontinental Cup in Konigssee. “After that, it seems like some things started to click for me. It was my first competition coming from a World Cup to an Intercontinental. So the pressure was less." (istoedinheiro.com.br, 10 Feb 2021)

Competed on the North American Cup circuit from 2017-20 with 12 top-10 finishes and a best of fourth in 2019 in Park City.
