Required surgery, but the surgery left her with nerve damage. “I had a little bit of bone removed in my ankle which should have been quite straight forward, but something in the surgery didn't go quite right. I ended up with a severed nerve in my foot, so nerve damage and I haven't been able to feel my foot for around two-three years now. Watching Lizzy Yarnold (GBR) win gold in skeleton at the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games, she was inspired to join the Power2Podium training programme after seeing an advertisement on television. Through the Power2Podium talent identification programme, she entered the British Skeleton programme and fell in love with the speed. "Sliding a skeleton track is crazy. It's such a huge thrill and you get a massive adrenaline rush when you slide so it can be hard to calm yourself down and concentrate but it's something you get used to the more you do it."
