Won silver at Beijing 2022, finishing 0.66 seconds behind Christopher Grotheer. The one-two finish for Germany were the first Olympic medals in skeleton.

Two-time World Championship silver medallist (2017, 2020). In 2020, in a German sweep of the podium, he finished 0.02 seconds behind champion Christopher Grotheer, and 0.03 seconds ahead of bronze medallist Alexander Gassner.

Three-time consecutive gold medallist in the Team event at the World Championships (2015, 2016, 2017).

First World Cup podium was second in 2015 (Winterberg) and his first victory was in 2018 (Koenigssee). Returning from injury, he won for the first time on his home track of Altenberg on 3 December 2021, in a Germany sweep of the podium.
