Was involved in an all-around hero's competition in Lithuania and tried the skeleton. "It didn't work out very well. But after that, I watched a video of people riding the track. This impressed me a lot. I love racing since childhood, I love Formula 1. I saw it all and was like, 'Oh, so I like it.' Two months later we arrived at the track." (xsport.ua, 17 Dec 2021)
It requires good preparation from the athlete, who needs to run, have good knowledge of physics, and understand the race.
"If you do not understand what is happening during the race, then you are a bad pilot. There must be some understanding. Those who understand why this or that happens, have a greater arsenal of actions in critical situations. And we are constantly faced with them. You still need to understand your technique. It's like in Formula 1 - the best car will win. Our goal is to make the best skeleton. We strive for this. And, of course, the adrenaline rush that this sport evokes. You are flying head downward at a speed of 145 km/h, a few centimeters separate you from the ice - it's all in bends. Why not? It's cool, it's interesting." (xsport.ua, 17 Dec 2021)
He would like to have big victories in his portfolio, glorify Ukraine, and make sure that the anthem is played as often as possible.
"I will be very happy if after the end of my career there will be a big continuation of the Ukrainian participation in the skeleton, and a large number of athletes who will defend the honour of our country in competitions. I will only be glad to leave the foundation for everything to develop further. But now I'm only 22 years old. Everything is just beginning for me." (xsport.ua, 17 Dec 2021)
PyeongChang 2018 Olympic Winter Games. "This is something incredible. This is a real celebration of sports. It definitely gives an imprint for life. For me to go there at the age of 19 - I just did not understand what was happening." (xsport.ua, 17 Dec 2021)

"Success is a vague concept. I guess I still don't think I have reached my limit. I know that my potential has not yet been revealed. We have just started to reveal it. This is just the beginning of the journey." (xsport.ua, 17 Dec 2021)
Was Ukraine's flagbearer at the opening ceremony of the Lillehammer 2016 Winter Youth Olympic Games.
