2013 World Cup in Shanghai (500m - 44th, 1500m - 27th, Relay - 11th)
March 2021: Tibia and fibula fracture in her right leg while training for World Championships in Dordrecht. Underwent surgery and had two metal plates inserted above her right ankle. Returned to competition in October.
February 2020: Avulsion fracture in her fibula after falling during the mixed relay at the Dresden World Cup event in Dresden. Did not return until the following season.
June 2016: Broke the 12th vertebra in her back. Required surgery to insert metal screws and more than four months of recovery.
2011: Bruised knee kept her out for six weeks.
Initially trained in athletics before taking up short track at age nine in Dresden. "Athletics was often too boring and I was fascinated by the difference of speed that you have on ice and land. My brother was a figure skater and after his sessions, the short track speed skaters started training. It looked cool and my mother asked if I wanted to try it. I liked it a lot and continued." "Speed skating is something most people now know about. But in short track speed skating, you don’t race against the clock, but directly against the competition. You therefore need a lot of tactical experience. And the risks are higher, of course. The radius is much tighter with us. Short track speed skating is faster and harder.
