Milestones

OLYMPIC WINTER GAMES
Bronze medallist in the team event (large hill/4x5km) in Beijing 2022, after just missing the podium in his last two Olympic appearances, with a fifth place in Sochi 2014 and fourth in PyeongChang 2018. The team with Hideaki Nagai, Ryota Yamamoto and his brother Akito, was ranked fourth after the ski jumping and finished just 0.3 second behind silver medallist Germany.

He finished 13th in the normal hill/10km and 25th in large hill/10km in the individual Beijing 2022 events.

WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS
In five participations he finished fourth five times with the team, in 2019 twice (team, team sprint). Together, with the one-fourth place in PyeongChang he has six fourth places for the team in major events. In 2017, he earned his first and only World medal - bronze - with the team sprint.

Best individual result was in 2013 finishing 12th in the large hill/10km.

In three participations in Junior World Championships (2008-10) his best result was another fourth place with the team in 2010.

WORLD CUP
Best individual and only podium finish to date was in 2013 in Oslo (large hill/10km), he has three top-three results with the team, but no World Cup victory so far.

SEASON 2021/22
Best season result was 10th in Otepaeae (normal hill/10km). He is currently ranked 20th in the overall World Cup.
