General Interest

ALL-TIME TOP MEDALLIST
With his two gold medals in Beijing 2022 and two from Sochi 2014, he became the first athlete to win four Olympic gold medals in Nordic combined, surpassing Eric Frenzel (GER), Felix Gottwald (AUT), Samppa Lajunen (FIN) and Ulrich Wehling (GDR) on three each.

PYEONGCHANG 2018 TEAM SILVER
“It’s really important and it’s a good feeling for all of us and the whole team. We’ve had fourth places in both individual competitions (Jarl Magnus Riiber finished just out of the medals in both the normal hill/10km and the large hill/10 km). It’s a relief to take the silver on such a great day. Everybody did a good job on the jumping hill and also had a good race with the skis. It was a good day for us.” (olympics.com, 22 Feb 2018)

COACH
Norwegian team coach Jan Schmid (NOR) is a four-time Olympian (2002, 2006, 2010, 2018) winning team silver at PyeongChang 2018, and seven-time World Championship medallist, including team gold in 2019.
