Went to ski boarding school in Furtwangen, graduated from high school there in 2011.

Father Klaus Faisst (Nordic combined): Competed at the World Cup level. Coach of his home club SV Baiersbronn.
Mother Andrea Faisst (Cross-country skiing/Football): Raced at the national level, then played football at FC Furtwangen.
Sister Melanie Faisst (Ski jumping): Competed at the World (2011) and Junior World Championships (2006, 2007, 2008, 2010), and was on the World Cup circuit from 2011-13 with one podium finish (third in 2011 in Lillehammer). Two-time German champion. Now plays football.

His father Klaus was a Nordic combined coach and let him try jumping from the 10 meter hill at the age of four. As a five-year-old, he already jumped from the 30 meter hill at his local club in Baiersborn. (manuel-faisst.de, 7 Sep 2021)
