:

Was introduced to ski jumping by his cousin who was practising it at the time, and he liked right away. His coach Andi Felder (AUT) suggested adding in cross-country skiing to do Nordic combined. He was six years old when he completed his first jumps on the hill and finished his first cross-country ski race with the Nordic Team Absam. At the legendary “Kids Meet their Idols”, he was eager and full of motivation at a young age and got valuable tips and tricks from Austrian Nordic combined athletes Christoph Bieler and Willi Denifl. Milestones

OLYMPIC WINTER GAMES
Sixth in the large hill/10km event in Beijing 2022. He was ranked eighth after the ski jumping part, made up all the time in the cross country part, was in the lead for a while, but eventually had to let a chasing group pass and finished sixth.
Fourth in the normal hill/10km event in his debut in Beijing 2022.

Fourth in the team event (large hill/4x5km) with Franz-Josef Rehrl, Lukas Greiderer, and Martin Fritz, in which they had won the ski jumping part, but eventually missed the podium by 4.4. seconds.

WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS
At the 2021 World Championships in Oberstdorf, he won the gold medal in the large hill/10km just three weeks after winning the junior world title, to become the youngest world champion in 32 years (age 19). He produced a huge jump of 138m and entered the 10km cross-country skiing with a 22-second lead over Japan's Akito Watabe and Norway's Jarl Magnus Riiber. The last junior/senior World title double was Norway's Trond Einar Elden in 1989.

Four-time junior World champion (2018 and 2020 team; 2019 and 2021 individual normal hill/10km), two-time silver medallist (2019 normal hill/5km, 2020 normal hill/10km), and bronze medallist (2019 team).

WORLD CUP
First individual World Cup podium in the large hill/5km race in Ruka (Nov 2020) when he finished second. Ended the 2020/21 season ranked sixth in the overall World Cup.

2021/22
Finished on the podium in ten out of the 15 World Cup events before Beijing 2022, including three second-place finishes behind Jarl Magnus Riiber (NOR). When Riiber didn't start in Val di Fiemme due to back problems, he seized the moment and claimed his first World Cup victory, followed by another two wins to take the lead in the overall World Cup in Riiber's absence. He finished second in the Seefeld Triple in January 2022 with three podium results.

OTHER
In 2016, he was the Austrian school champion in team jumping in Eisenerz, and bronze medallist in the 10km freestyle in Seefeld in 2018. (oesv.at)
