2017
Was introduced to ski jumping by his cousin who was practising it at the time, and he liked right away. His coach Andi Felder (AUT) suggested adding in cross-country skiing to do Nordic combined. He was six years old when he completed his first jumps on the hill and finished his first cross-country ski race with the Nordic Team Absam. At the legendary “Kids Meet their Idols”, he was eager and full of motivation at a young age and got valuable tips and tricks from Austrian Nordic combined athletes Christoph Bieler and Willi Denifl. (meinbezirk.at, 6 Feb 2019)
He had to decide whether to pursue weightlifting or Nordic combined exclusively. “At some point the question arose because both types of sport do not work in the long term. My heart burns for Nordic combined." (kurier.at, 19 Dec 2020)
