Competed in singles until 2016/17 when he partnered with childhood friend Martins Bots at the junior level. With two World Cup podium appearances in 2020/21 - their first full season on the senior circuit - the tandem finished seventh in the season standings.

Milestones

Beijing 2022 Olympic Games bronze medallist in the team relay.

Did not record a doubles podium at the junior level, but in their first season on the World Cup circuit in 2020/21, won a bronze medal at the European Championships in Sigulda and won the final race of the year at St. Moritz. At the World Championships in Koenigssee, they won bronze in the U23 division.
