Been involved in luge since 2005 when national coach Kristaps Maurins (LAT) encouraged him and his friends to try the sport on a visit to the track in Sigulda. "We had seen so much of luge that the only question that followed was, 'Where do we sign up?'" (kamanas.lv, 2018)
