Began competing at age nine. In his first race, he finished last and wanted to quit the sport. His father told him he had to phone the club chairman to deliver the news. Frauscher did not want to make that call, so he continued to luge. (tt.com, 11 Dec 2015)

General Interest

SWITCH TO DOUBLES
Competed in doubles at the 2010 Junior World Championships in Innsbruck, finishing 15th with Markus Treichl. Switched to singles the following season, with Treichl switching to bobsleigh. He returned to doubles for the 2019/20 season, partnering with Yannick Mueller who also made the switch from singles.

The pair finished third in their first Nations Cup race in Innsbruck, winning the Oberhof Nations Cup in late January. After one top-10 World Cup finish in their first season, the duo achieved the feat 10 times during 2020/21, including two podiums and a fourth-place.

BEIJING 2022
On 7 February 2022, Frauscher and Mueller crashed in training prior to the start of the doubles competition at the Beijing 2022 Olympic Winter Games. Mueller suffered a compound fracture in his forearm, forcing the team to withdraw from the competition. (then24.com, 7 Feb 2022)
