:

Started skiing at age three on Mount Ruapehu (active volcano based in the center of the North Island of New Zealand). Her parents would drive her and her older brother three hours south every weekend in the winter so they could ski. Her first season competing freestyle was in 2015, based at Turoa with the local squad. At age 17, she moved to Cardrona to train slopestyle, and by the next year she went overseas for the first time to compete in the northern hemisphere. "I still head home to Mount Ruapehu every year, to ski with my family and enjoy (what I think) the most beautiful mountain in the world." (Athlete, May 2021)

:

Decided focus solely on free-ski halfpipe in July 2018 after realizing she was improving a lot faster in that discipline, and was able to use the fundamental skills from competing slopestyle for a few years. "I had a lot of work to do learning the basics of riding the pipe (which most have had years upon years to learn), but spending that extra time learning that helped a lot in the long term. Halfpipe skiing has opened me up to training in some beautiful places, and to train under some of the best coaches in the world." (Athlete, May 2021)

:

:

Ziwi rugby players: Richie McCaw (who captained the national team, the All Blacks, won two Rugby World Cups) - purely on his professionalism on and off the field.
NZL Black Stick Female Players (Jemma Flynn, Charlotte Harrison) - due to their athleticism.
Snowboarder Zoi Sadowski-Synnott (AUS), PyeongChang 2018 Olympic Winter Games big air bronze medallist, 2019 World slopestyle champion. "I admire her style and uniqueness she brings to the sport, and how humble she is. She is truly a awesome chick." (Athlete, May 2021)

:

Freestyle skier Britt Hawes (NZL): PyeongChang 2018 Olympian (halfpipe) and now Snowsports NZ Communications Manager. Hawes was one of the first people to recognize her ability, and encouraged her to pursue it, and is one of her biggest role models. "She has guided me through the difficulties of being a self-funded athlete, taught me how to stick up for myself, to work as hard as I possibly can, and never give up. Without her I would not be the athlete I am today. (Athlete, May 2021)
