Started skiing when she was two and a half years old in Manigod, a little village in the French Alps. Was part of the local alpine ski club until she was 11 years old. Then changed disciplines and joined the la Clusaz freestyle club. (Athlete, May 2021)

:

Thrill-seeking was in her DNA. Decided to change disciplines because she wanted to do something that made her happier and more excited about skiing. She was four when she first got thrown off a tower, but she loved it.

"It’s definitely been inside me, the whole adrenaline thing. I was definitely not forced, but I guess seeing my dad do it all the time and my brothers, although one of my brothers didn’t do it until he was like 14 because he was actually really scared. But I just haven’t really been that scared of it, I’ve just been excited to be a part of it and I can’t really explain it. It’s just part of who I am...Freeskiing has always been so much fun, it never gets boring. There's always something new to learn and I love the challenge to push my limits." (Athlete, May 2021; stuff.co.nz, 26 Sep 2021)

:

She had dreamed of competing at the Olympic Winter Games ever since her dad took her to watch the event at Sochi in 2014. He was starting up a bungy site in the Olympic city, and was going there quite a lot and they actually ended up going as spectators and she watched the Olympics and saw the level of skiing. Now she wants to compete at the Olympic Winter Games and bring back a medal. (Athlete, May 2021; stuff.co.nz, 26 Sep 2021)

General Interest

BEIJING 2022 OLYMPIC WINTER GAME SELECTION
Was included in the first wave of New Zealand athletes selected for Beijing 2022, having narrowly missed out on Pyeongchang in 2018. “I’ve been working really hard for this. I just missed out on the last one three years ago so to be able to qualify before the end of the qualification period, that means a lot. It’s really cool to be a part of the team now and it’s a real privilege to be able to represent Aotearoa.” (stuff.co.nz, 26 Sep 2021)

HALF AND HALF
Born and raised in Annecy, France, and describes herself as being “half French and half Kiwi.” (stuff.co.nz, 26 Sep 2021)

BUNGY JUMPING
First tried her father's sport when she was only four years of age. “I don’t do them super often, I mean I’ve probably done a lot more than your average person, I’ve probably done over 100 bungys, but I do still get a bit nervous sometimes, so it definitely stays exciting." (stuff.co.nz, 26 Sep 2021; Athlete, May 2021)

VEGETARIANISM
Is a dedicated vegetarian, and a wildlife and animal lover. "As long as it's plant-based, I'm happy." (ca.factionskis.com, Athlete, May 2021)

FREESTYLE AND FEMININITY
Freeskiing is often seen as a man’s sport, so to be a woman in this sport feels great and makes her feel like a 'badass woman'. Thinks most people get excited when they hear that women do crazy tricks on jumps and she's happy to be part of something so unique such as freeskiing. (downdays.eu, Mar 2020)
