Began skiing at six with family friends who taught her the basics of skiing at Mount Ruapehu at Rotorua Ski Club. At that time it was just meant to be just a sport to have fun in winter and keep the kids out of trouble before they went back to swimming and surfing over the summer. In 2017/18, moved to Wanaka to get some work experience while finishing her last year of high school by correspondence and she started riding halfpipe after having done some small slopestyle competitions for fun with her school the year before. Has always loved the whole skiing environment from the start, from throwing snowballs at her friends as a kid, then warming up with a pie and hot chocolate. Then fell in love with halfpipe skiing because of the thrill it gives her and the feeling of being out in nature with skiing, something that is not so natural, especially after she was diagnosed with endometriosis and polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS).
