February 2021: Concussion, missing the following competitions. Contracted Covid-19 just before the 2021 World Championships in Almaty, KAZ, which she had to miss.
2019
Growing up in Boyne City, Michigan (four miles from the Boyne USA ski resort) she developed an early passion for skiing and her competitive spirit started her down a ski racing path. A competitive gymnast at 12, she was was spotted by one of the USA recruitment coaches through social media and was invited to an aerials recruitment camp in Park City, Utah where her results lead her to a free year of ramp time and coaching with the EADP (Elite Aerials Development Program) West. The following year the recruitment camp was at Lake Placid, New York, where she was put on the EADP East team, which included subsidized coaching fees and room and board at the Olympic Training Center. Her first competition season at age 14 was very successful (14 being the earliest one can get a FIS jumping license). Won the Nor-Am series (youngest to do so), was second at USA Nationals, and won Junior Nationals. (worldcupdreams.org)
"I grew up as a gymnast and an alpine skier. Aerial skiing seemed to be the perfect combination of the two sports I grew up loving. After giving aerials a try, I grew to love the adrenaline of trying new skills, the process of learning new things, and the rush of putting tricks to my feet on snow." (Athlete, May 2021)
Laser focused on Beijing 2022 Olympic Winter Games. Her two eighth place World Cup finishes in 2019 in China gave her the confidence that she could make it onto the podium at a few World Cups and increase her degree of difficulty to be competitive with the best in the world. (Athlete, May 2021)
A well rounded athlete on skates, ski's or in the gym. “I’ve always wanted to go to the Olympics, no matter what sport it is, so this is really a dream come true for me.” (petoskeynews.com, 21 Mar 2018)
In February 2021, she finished third at the World Cup in Deer Valley. This was her first chance to make the quota to qualify for the Beijing 2022 Olympic Winter Games.
USA alpine skier, two-time Olympian Cary Adgate (1976, 1980). "He grew up in the same small town as I did, and inspired people throughout the entire state. I was always amazed that someone from such a small town could be successful on an Olympic level, and it made me believe that I might have a chance to do the same." (Athlete, May 2021)
Her father is the most influential person in her life and sport career. " He is my biggest support system, and has always provided me with the tools to help me be successful. He has guided me throughout my entire athletic career, and has shaped me into the athlete I am today." (Athlete, May 2021)
"Enjoy the journey. I tend to focus on end results and miss out on this amazing journey that I'm on. The life lessons I have learned, and the experiences I have had, are equally as valuable, if not more, than Olympic medals or Crystal Globes." (Athlete, May 2021)
