First tried skiing at age two in Gryon, Switzerland. On 28 November 2006, when ski cross was officially included in the programme for the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games, her father asked her if she wanted to go to the Olympic Winter Games. At the time there wasn't a Swiss National team, so her father started the process to find sponsors and coaching. By age 16, she left school to pursue a career as a professional athlete. (redbull.com)
Before ski cross, she competed in slopestyle competitions, but that discipline wasn't for her: "It’s a sport that’s judged and I could never do a sport that was judged. I then did my first ski cross and that was truly the sport I was waiting for. You’re never bored, every track is different, no jump is ever the same, you’re always thinking about strategy and technique.” (redbull.com, Mar 2021)
The one medal missing from her career is the Olympic gold medal. “That’s the one thing. The goal of every athlete is to win gold. But if I race perfectly and I don’t have a medal or I’m second and third, I will also be glad.” (redbull.com, Mar 2021)
On top of her skiing training, she is famous for her parkour training sessions at the gym, where she shows off her balance and reactivity skills with a number of innovative circuit training routines. (Instagram)
Becoming the winningest ski cross athlete of all-time (amongst women and men). By winning the 2021 World Cup in Idre Fjall, she broke Ophelie David's record of 26 World Cup wins. (FIS TV, Dec 2020)
Tennis player Roger Federer (SUI), 2008 Olympic doubles champion and 2012 singles silver medallist. "I really like the spirit of Roger Federer. It's not because he's Swiss, it's just because I think it is so incredible how he can be at the top and be so good for a long time and have not so much injury." (cnn.com, 6 Feb 2014)
Coach Guillaume Nantermod. (Athlete, 11 Feb 2010)
"I come from a family where you go for what you've decided to go for, no compromise." (redbull.com)
"Give yourself the means to achieve your dreams." (villars-diablerets.ch)
Three-time Crystal Globe winner (2021, 2019, 2013)
