Started skiing at the age of three while she grew up in Founex, just outside Geneva. At the age of 12, moved to England where her focus became her studies. After graduating from the university, she decided to move to France to do a ski season: "My passion for park skiing grew rapidly, and in May 2015, I was scouted by the Swiss team coach and joined the B team." (sarahhoefflin.com)
While on a ski trip she was doing 360s off the side of pistes and a guy came up to her and encouraged her to do freestyle. "I had literally never watched it before. I had no idea what it even was. That was when I went into the park for the first time in my life." (powder.com, Jul 2018)
"I still have a lot of tricks that I want to get better at. I don’t think my level at the Olympic Games is the end or the best I could do. I could do so much. I could learn some new doubles. I want to keep doing that. There’s no point trying to say, “I want to be first. I want to win, this or that.” If you want to win it, you’ve got to be better than everyone else. So, you should really focus on skiing." (powder.com, Jul 2018)
Winning gold at the PyeongChang 2018 Olympic Winter Games.
Actor and former wrestler Dwayne Johnson (USA). Asked which celebrity she would like to have a beer with, "I would go for Dwayne Johnson, 'The Rock'. He’s just an inspiration. He’s super funny and I would love to have a beer with him." (columbia.com)
"I’ve had a few people around me with rituals or superstitions and I always told myself, 'I’m never going to do that because I don’t want to base my performance off of superstition. The only thing is I drop into my contest run with the same song: 'Ante Up'. Every time, every single contest, that’s the song." (columbia.com)
“Wherever I am and whatever I do, I remember why I’m doing it. Whether it’s a typical training day or the biggest competition of my career, my main goal is to have fun.” (sarahhoefflin.com)
