Alpine skiing: Started his career as an Alpine skier with some success as a junior. Was the 2006 Swiss Junior slalom bronze medallist. Quit alpine skiing in 2007.
American football: Played American football and was part of the multiple Swiss champions team 'Calanda Broncos' for several years.
2008 World Cup in Meiringen-Hasilberg (Ski cross - 29th)
February 2021: Had COVID-19 just before the race in Bakuriani, and could not travel to Georgia. Returned to competition on 21 March in Veysonnaz.
January 2014: Herniated a disc in his back just weeks before the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games, but raced anyway, finishing 31st before crashing again a month later ending up in the hospital for three weeks recovering from surgery. (xgames.com)

Was introduced to the sport at age 21 by a colleague, participating in his first competition in Soelden. Been hooked ever since. (swiss-ski.ch)
Likes the thrill of racing. Initially, paid for the flights and the hotel himself. "Money was never my motivation. I would definitely have earned more if I had always worked 100 percent as a computer scientist. Ski cross is my vocation. I grew up next to the ski slopes and wanted to race from the very beginning."
