February 2018: Previous knee injury flared up in his final training session at PyeongChang 2018 Olympic Winter Games, and it was decided he would not compete.
September 2017: Ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) and underwent extensive rehabilitation in order to compete at PyeongChang 2018.

His first exposure to the sport was around age 12 when one of his interschool’s teammates was taking part and he got to watch. (snowriders-australia.com)
He loved the sport and developed an obsession with it quite quickly even though he was just an average skier due to a lack of technical training from an early age and time on snow. "I remember watching video of my favourite mogul runs for hours during those first six or seven years. Even to this day, I still find myself doing it; however, not to the same extent." (snowriders-australia.com)
Says the Olympic Winter Games is the pinnacle of the sport. "I want to imagine myself at the starting gates of the Olympic Games, and I want to have a feeling that I have done everything I could have in order to give myself the best possible chance to perform at my best at that major event." (pal.nsw.edu.au)
When setting goals, there is a point where he establishes where he wants to be and there is a point where he is at currently. "I think about what are the necessary steps in between my goal and where I am now. I map those out mentally and with my coaches and trainers." (pal.nsw.edu.au)
First World Cup podium in Deer Valley in 2017. (owia.org)
Freestyle skier Dale Begg-Smith (AUS), 2006 Olympic champion (2010 silver), and three-time World Championships medallist. He was a huge inspiration for him as when he won gold at the Torino 2006 Olympic Winter Games, it was at the same time he was just getting started with the sport: "I remember watching footage of his skiing over and over, and often tried to replicate many elements of his technique in my own. His run in Torino is still to this day, one of the best, if not the best moguls run of all time (in my opinion)". (snowriders-australia.com)
"While I was growing up, my parents instilled the belief in me that if I really wanted something then I could go out there and do the work to achieve it. That applies to all areas of my life whether that’s in sport or education or work. It is the philosophy I have operated under my whole life." (pal.nsw.edu.au)
