Went on his first skiing holiday at age two and fell in love with the sport. At age eight, his family moved to the French Alps (for a year to learn the language) where he joined the local club (Montchavin Les Coches) and started alpine ski racing. When his parents asked him and his siblings if they wanted to move back to the United Kingdom, they all said no. At 15, went to Austria to train at Team Evolution’s skiing and education centre. Started competing at the British Championships and was soon representing the British alpine ski team. In 2017, transitioned to ski cross. Ski cross is more fitted to his style of skiing and his personality. "I was always the one messing around on the slopes, taking on the jumps, ragging around and being a loon." (teamgb.com, 11 Mar 2021)

:

Compete at the Beijing 2022 Olympic Winter Games. "If I make the Games, life's going to change in a good way. It's more about the way other people respond to you, with increased interest and exposure. "I've got big things I want to do. I want an Olympic medal, I want to go back and have revenge at the World Championships [in two years' time]. "The list is endless. But I want to give back to my sport and help people and the Olympics is a great way to start doing that." (teamgb.com, 11 Mar 2021)

:

Finishing fourth at the 2021 World Championships in Idre Fjall. "I wouldn't exchange that result for anything, not even for a World Cup win." (FIS Freestyle YouTube, 23 Mar 2021)

2018 Junior World ski cross champion in Cardrona - the first-ever Briton to win this title.

:

Alpine skier David Ryding (GBR). Competed in three Olympic Winter Games, four World Championships, and won the Europa Cup. His best World Cup results have been runner-up positions, in the slalom in Kitzbuhel in 2017 and the parallel slalom in Oslo in 2019, also as third in Adelboden, 10th January 2021.
