Has been skiing at Mammoth Mountain in California, since he was two. His dad would take him and his little brother there from Los Angeles every Friday after school and back down Sunday night all winter long. Eventually, they moved up to Mammoth. (snowbrains.com)

Usually puts a motto or inspirational phrase on his race suit. When he was a younger athlete he had "A baby shark is still a shark" to remind himself although he was young and competing against older more experienced guys he had every right to be there.
For years, he had 'Rome wasn't built in a day' and 'Elvis wasn't born a king' to remind himself to trust the process.
Now he has 'Burn the ships' which is taken from a story his cousin told him about leadership and not turning back and never surrendering. (Athlete, Jan 2022)
