Raised in the ski industry with two professional skiers, her parents: "As a kid, my brother and I watched old re-run videos of my parents winning seven Pro Mogul Tours and we stood on the podium with my mom at the X Games." (jaelinkauf.com)
Skiing Grand Targhee was where her passion started, chasing her brother around the mountain. "It never mattered if you were a racer, big mountain or freestyle skier, we all skied together and we all skied everything. I grew up with no fear, no limits and believing that nothing would hold me back from achieving my goals. After moving to Colorado to join the Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club, "It was there, looking up at the Olympic Flags hanging from the ceiling, that I realized that I could be an Olympian too. With the encouragement of the whole community and SSWSC, I decided to pursue skiing at the highest level and to put everything I had into the sport." (jaelinkauf.com)
Loves skiing and grew up trying everything she could. Eventually decided to pursue mogul skiing because it was more unique to her, as it combines aspects from every other discipline of skiing and you have to be perfect all in a 30-second run. "It’s really unlike any other sport I’ve tried, and have so much fun continually pushing myself in the sport to go bigger and faster." (Athlete, May 2021)
"I grew up with no fear, no limits and believing that nothing would hold me back from achieving my goals." (jaelinkauf.com)
2018/19 World Cup season, as it was her best season to date, placing top-five at every World Cup event and skied in every dual mogul final: "It was the most consistent year of competing I have ever had." (jaelinkauf.com)
Her mother. (Athlete, May 2021)
Brother Skyler. He's the one she grew up chasing around the ski hill and instilled that deep love and passion for being in the mountains and on skis. "I followed him into the sport. He wanted to ski moguls, I didn’t really like them, but he started to compete and I wanted to do everything he did. He’s only one year older than me and until he left for college, we travelled, trained and skied bumps together. He’s the hardest worker I’ve ever known and he really showed me what hard work was, how to push myself and go out and get what I wanted." (Athlete, May 2021)
"Deliver the Love" is on the back of her helmet and as a daily reminder on her phone.
