At 18 months, she was on her first pair of tiny plastic skis, guided down the mountain at Killington, Vermont, between her parents’ legs, and at two and a half years of age, she was tethered to her parents with a long strap. When she was old enough to ski on her own, she would wait for someone she knew to help her onto the lift. Joined the freestyle team when she was eight, and qualified for her first junior national championships at age 12. (my.usskiandsnowboard.org; courant.com, 28 Feb 2021)

Beijing 2022 Olympic Winter Games medal. “When you’re a little kid and you’re good, everybody’s like, ‘Oh you’re going to go to the Olympics some day. It’s always been a goal of mine but obviously right now, my goal is to medal at those games and bring everything I’ve worked for to fruition and bring something home to all the people who have invested in me and believed in me this whole time because they deserve it." (courant.com, 28 Feb 2021)

General Interest

THE NEXT STEP
Despite being ranked number three in the overall World Cup standings in the 2020/21 season, she hasn't had a World Cup win yet: "It takes more than a back tuck cork 7 for all the pieces to fall in one place on the day. I want to be dominant. When I win, I don't want it to be a one-off. If I visualize my winning run of the World Championships or the Olympics, I can see that I need to pull the cork. I need those big airs big time." (The Next Turn podcast, Mar 2021)

COVID-19
After returning home from the cancelled World Championships, she and a friend went skinning – where skiers climb up a mountain with their skis on and then ski down. They did 18 peaks in Vermont (sometimes three in one day), in a week. (courant.com, 28 Feb 2021)

LOVES KILLINGTON
Travels back home in Killington, Vermont after the end of the season to do some spring skiing. She loves Killington more than anywhere else in the world. Considers herself as the "Killington poster girl." (courant.com, 28 Feb 2021; The Next Turn podcast, Mar 2021; Athlete, May 2021)
