2013 World Cup in Lake Placid (Aerials - 16th)
2016
Started skiing at the age of two near his parents’ vacation home at Loon Mountain. His parents caught him trying to teach himself to ski by using his big sister's equipment. Started to flip when he was about 11. Took part in park skiing and snowboarding before making the full-time move to aerials. (usskiandsnowboard.org, lowellsun.com)
Grew up as a gymnast his whole life, so it went hand in hand with aerial skiing. (lowellsun.com)
Eric Bergoust, coach of the U.S. Developmental Ski Team said to the Lowell Sun: "What I like about Eric is the mature approach he takes to the sport, getting the most out of every day and doing the little things, like getting the proper rest, eating the right foods and learning to visualize each jump before he takes it.”
First World Cup competition in 2013 in Lake Placid: "To be the youngest guy on the hill made me feel a little out of place, but I was ready to compete. When it was my turn to jump, everything went quiet and my coach at the top got me pumped up and told me I had it." (lowellsun.com)
