2009 World Cup in Park City (Halfpipe - 12th)
September 2021: Severe case of shingles that materialised on his face, on his left eye. (Instagram)
2019: Broke his femur while skiing in Austria missing the remainder of the season.
2016/17 season: Back injury and concussion.
2016: Dislocated his left shoulder at the 2016 Mammoth Mountain World Cup.
2009/10 season: Tore the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in his left knee. Had surgery and required six months of rehabilitation.

Began skiing at age three and skiing professionally at age 18. Followed in his father’s footsteps as a ski racer, but then turned to freestyle skiing when he was 11 years old. (teamusa.org)
"It's fast, it's in your face, has five or six big hits in a row, and lasts 30 seconds from start to finish. Whereas a slopestyle run, as fun as they are, there's a lot of time in between each hit. With halfpipe there's literally no time to even change edges, you just land and go into the next take-off, and when you land a really good competition run, it's the most gratifying thing ever."
