Brother Tetsuya Furuno (Freestyle skiing - ski cross): Currently competes on the World Cup tour and has participated at four Junior World Championships (2014, 2015, 2016 2018) with top finish of sixth in 2018 in Cardrona.

Alpine skiing: Competed in FIS events in slalom and giant slalom from 2015 to 2021, with the best finish of third in 2017 in Okutadami (slalom).

Cycling (BMX): Competed internationally from 2009 to 2011. Had Japan Series Overall age group victory, and was seventh at the 2011 World Championships.

January 2020: Tore his left anterior cruciate ligament, returning to competition in January 2021.
