OLYMPIC WINTER GAMES
Bronze medallist in moguls at the Beijing 2022 Olympic Winter Games.

Made his Olympic moguls debut at the PyeongChang 2018 Olympic Winter Games. Was in seventh after the first run, but did not finish his second run, ending up in 11th.

WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS
Two-time World champion. First Japanese male freestyle skier to win a world championships gold medal in any discipline by claiming victory in moguls in 2017 in Sierra Nevada. A day later, he won the dual moguls.

WORLD CUP
In 2021 in Almaty, was unable to defend his 2017 World title and won the dual moguls bronze medal beating Canadian Brenden Kelly in the Small Final.

Ended Canada's Mikael Kingsbury's almost year-long streak of World Cup wins in January 2018 in his own Canadian backyard in Mont Tremblant.

Opened up this 2021/22 World Cup campaign with three straight podium finishes, including a victory on 11 December 2021 in moguls (Idre Fjall).

OTHER
Two-time Asian Winter Games champion in 2017 (moguls, dual moguls).

Five-time national champion.
