2014: Tore his right lateral meniscus and did not ski for about a year.

Has been a skier for most of his life, but he didn’t make the switch from racing to a freestyle skiing program until he was 14. In less than two years in the sport, by 2014 he was on the national development team taking up slopestyle. In order to support his skiing career and live closer to Canada Olympic Park, the entire Moffatt family packed up their home in Ontario and moved out west to Calgary, Alberta giving him much better access to training facilities than he had in Ontario. Before dropping in competitions, he listens to piano playlists. When he was growing up his grandfather always loved playing the piano. "I would sit beside his piano playing Lego for hours listening to him, so I feel like maybe that could have something to do with it...I would get too fired-up if I was listening to heavy rap.
