2012 World Cup in Mammoth (Slopestyle - 50th)
February 2019: At the X Games in Aspen, on his last jump, he broke his leg, missing the finals the next day. Then went to Park City, Utah for the World Championships. Couldn't ski for big air but managed to qualify for the slopestyle finals, but failed to perform as well as he wanted (DNF). When he got back home he had an MRI done which resulted in a fracture in his tibial plateau. Was already back on skis in March. (Podcast newschoolers.com, 2019).
2013
Grew up skiing at Glen Eden, a 200-ft. vertical hill in the Toronto area, joining the Milton Heights Racing Club at a young age. At 10, he moved on to Craigleith Ski Club, which has 500 vertical feet. Has always been in slopestyle skiing, evidenced by the one season he broke five pairs of his racing skis while attempting to hit rails. Was also often caught building jumps at the bottom of race courses. Finally settled into freestyle skiing, joined the Ontario provincial team at age 11 before joining the national slopestyle team in 2012, making him one of the youngest members ever in the program. "The adrenaline that you have in places like Aspen or for a night-time big air, the crowd, is all unbelievable, you feel like you can do any trick in the world." (Podcast on newschoolers.com, 2019)
When he started slopestyle skiing it wasn't an Olympic sport yet. He was skiing in Whistler in 2011 when he heard that slopestyle would be added to the Olympics in 2014. "Up to that point, the X Games was the dream, and then right after that happened I knew I wanted to go (to the Olympics) and that was my mission." (cbc.ca)
First World Cup podium in 2017 (second in slopestyle): "I've been waiting for a while. It's kinda been pretty unlucky for me, so it's a crazy weight off my shoulders to finally reach the podium." (cbc.ca)
