In the 2019 World Cup in Beijing, he nailed a switch 1800 with a backwards takeoff and five rotations, for the first time in his career, finishing second. "I was the first to drop in the heat so I had my game plan, what I wanted to do, and landed my first jump, all good, keep going. Then in my second jump, I kind of got stressed out in my own head, and I decided to do a different trick that I hadn’t trained at all, which was really dumb because I screwed it up, got a 40-point score. Then I needed to land something big in the end and decided to go for it, and try the 1800, and it worked out for me. A WINTER OLYMPIC DREAM FROM VANCOUVER ISLAND
Growing up on Mount Washington on Vancouver Island (better known for producing summer Olympians), he often flew under the provincial/national team development radar. His father Shane: “Because we were on the Island, he was never really given a huge look by the organizations that pull kids up and get them to the Canadian level. PODIUM OF LIFE SKI ACADEMY
His parents started the in-school academy in 2010 with the intent to give kids an opportunity to get credits towards their passion sports. Competed at three world championships, in 2017 (slopestyle), 2019 (big air, slopestyle), and 2021 (freeski slopestyle, freeski big air).

First World Cup podium finish and victory was in 2017 in Silvaplana (where he had made his debut two years earlier), having learned a new trick for the last rail feature and performed it cleanly in both of his final runs.
