Grew up in Ostersund, (one hour from the ski resort Are) and started skiing at age two when his parents would bring him to the local ski slope. "At the age of eight, I found some jumps and rails in Are. From the first time I knew that I loved freeskiing. My family goes to Are every weekend to ski. It has helped me a lot that my parents always have pushed me and like to ski."

In 2019, he started at a freeski school in Malung, Sweden: "In the winter, we ski four to five days every week in Klappen (30 minutes from the school). It has been very good for me because I've learned a bunch of new stuff when I get to ski almost every day." (oliwermagnusson.com)

"My goal is to become the world's greatest skier. I want to win the major freeski competitions, but also have good video parts. To reach my goal, I have to work hard and ski a lot, and that is what I love." (oliwermagnusson.com)

Milestones

OLYMPIC WINTER GAMES
Finished 18th in his Olympic Winter Games debut at PyeongChang 2018, one place behind Swedish X Games big air legend, Henrik Harlaut.

WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS
2020 World big air champion. Was in second after the first two runs in 2021, when the electricity in the arena went out, he had to wait a long time before he could drop his last run. With his nerves under control, he put down a perfect switch double 1800 tailgrab to capture his first World title. His only major podium prior had been a second at a 2019 World Cup slopestyle competition in Italy. “It’s crazy. All the big names. I’ve been looking up to them my whole life. It’s so nice to compete against them. Feeling super nice. My first win on a big competition, so I’m super stoked.” (aspentimes.com, 17 Mar 2021)

Two-time Junior World Championships slopestyle medallist, winning gold in 2018, and silver in 2017.

WORLD CUP
Had his first big air World Cup podium in Kreischberg in 2021 (his first podium finish was second in slopestyle in 2019). "I have not previously thought that I am so good in just big air, but that it is in slopestyle that I have my chances." (skidor.com, 8 Jan 2021)

Finished the 2020/21 season in third in the Overall standings. "I did not even know that there was a total where it was combined all branches. But it's really fun, the first overall podium place at the World Cup." (svt.se, Mar 2021)
