Started skiing at the age of three and started training in the park when he was seven. Has always skied a lot in Are because he grew up in a town an hour away. (skipass.com)
Began seriously considering a career as a professional skier at age 16 when he got his first sponsorship contract. (Info 2018))
Over the summer he focuses on other sports to take some inspiration to put into his skiing and his tricks. Trains on the trampoline and on inline skates.
His Hamster 'Hams': "You could say he's my mentor and spiritual leader. He teaches me so much every day and always reminds me of the little things in life." (redbull.com)
Freestyle skier Jon Olsson (SWE), two-time X Games champion. (prime-skiing.de)
Three rituals:
1. He has to make sure that his gloves are correctly attached to the poles, as he has a klick-function which enables him to secure the link between glove and pole: "It has become a thing for me. I shake my hands to be sure they're attached. It might look weird to see someone up there continually waving his hands, but what to do?"
2. When he's going fast, he wants to make sure all his pockets are closed. "We're talking checking at least once every minute. Imagine double-flipping your phone and wallet out of your pocket in mid-air, what would the judges say?"
3. The right ski must be on the right foot: "If I notice that I've accidentally been doing my warmup-runs with mismatched skis, I'm obligated to use the same setup in the competition. Some would swap back, but that would be a violation of the skiing quantum mechanics. You can't just do that." (redbull.com)
"Skiing is always in the back of my head. It's always random when I come up with new tricks." (unofficialnetworks.com)
