Brother Broderick Thompson (Alpine skiing): Competed at the PyeongChang 2018 Olympic Winter Games, 2021 World Championships and three Junior World Championships (2013-15). Made his World Cup debut in 2014 in Lake Louise, AB, Canada, and is the 2016 national downhill champion.
Alpine skiing: Raced mainly at national level in 2008.

October 2017: Anterior cruciate ligament and medial cruciate ligament injury in her knee after a training crash in Switzerland. Underwent an accelerated rehabilitation program and was able to compete at PyeongChang 2018 Olympic Winter Games. (thestar.com, 21 Feb 2018)
2015: Injured her knee during the semifinals of the 2015 World Championships in Kreischberg, requiring surgery, and was sidelined for five months. Returned to competition at the first event of the 2015/16 World Cup season in Montafon, Austria, and eventually skied her way back to being world-ranked No. 2 that season. (thestar.com, 21 Feb 2018)

Began skiing at age two and joined Whistler Mountain Ski Club in British Columbia, Canada when she decided to take up the sport seriously. First tried ski cross at age 16. (Info 2018)
