Was encouraged to take up the sport by his family. Growing up he discovered he loved jumping and moved on to practising moguls and halfpipe. "I wanted to go wherever I wanted and to use the ground to jump. I loved the freedom to play with the mountain. I had no pleasure being forced to ski on beginner or intermediate slopes, and I soon switched to freestyle skiing." (Info 2018)

General Interest

OLYMPIC STATE OF MIND
"If I had to describe my state of mind during each Games in one word, I would say 'conqueror' in Sochi, a little bit 'kamikaze' in PyeongChang, and 'serene' in Beijing." (olympics.com)

FAMILY MAN
"Before, when a competition didn’t go well, it was a big deal for me. Now, if things don’t go as planned, it is not a problem and I can find consolation with my family." (olympics.com)

FREE DIVING PREPARATION
Began free diving after the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games, and he now uses the sport as part of his preparation. "It's my favourite discipline just after skiing. I can't spend a whole week without diving. It gives me a mental basis. The principle is to be relaxed despite the effort. Mentally speaking, there's nothing harder than that. I feel the benefits of it when I need to empty my mind just before a race starts." (Info 2018)

MEDIA
Together with his friend Julien Regnier, he has posted a number of skiing videos to YouTube under the title 'Fast Forward'. "I am a skier first and I love all facets of skiing, so I take advantage of my free time to show people that I do not only do the halfpipe. I love the creative side of video, every season we try to push the videos more and more." (Info 2018)
