Grandfather Ivo Mahlknecht (Alpine skiIng): One of the best Italian skiers of the 1960s. Competed at the Innsbruck 1964 and Grenoble 1968 Olympic Winter Games in the downhill, slalom, and giant slalom, with the best result of sixth in the downhill in 1968. At the 1966 World Championships in Portillo (CHI), he finished sixth in the combined. He passed away on 30 March 2020 of COVID-19. (fantaski.com.it, 30 Mar 2020)

Her passion for skiing started at age three with her family, but she did not race in Alpine, as she figure skated for some time. "At 17, some of my friends started doing flips on skis. When I saw them I couldn't help but try myself. And that's when my biggest passion was born. I have dedicated so much of my heart, time and sacrificed a lot for it. I often wouldn't go to school because I wanted to train." (redbull.com, Feb 2016)
